I was an early adopter of digital camera technology, however my real art is in the sharing of my knowledge with others. Over the past 15 years I have taught thousands of people how to use a camera. How do on-line lessons work?

- There will be a maximum of 5 guests in each session

- You need a computer with a camera, mic and speakers
- You will receive a login link 15 minutes prior to lesson
How often
How many sessions are offered?
There are almost 20 different lessons that are available including a potpourri lesson that changes all the time. Additionally, there is a dedicated Intro photography class designed to get newbies started on their photography journey. I have also consulted with some special guest photographers to share their lessons on specific types of photography, but more to come on that later.
I want to learn to edit
What about editing?
There are lessons in Photoshop, ACDSee and Affinity Photo. You and I will both be able to share our screens and I will be able to help you solve common issues with editing. And the best part is that we can do it in real-time.

Intro Camera Courses (10 hours)
Introductory camera course
You must start somewhere! The intro course is 10 hours, spread out over 2 days.
Simply put, you will understand how your camera works by the end of the workshop, and you will have a ton of fun while learning! 10 hours of instruction throughout the 2 days. Generally, online lessons run from 10 am – 4pm both days.

Intermediate Camera Lessons (1 hour )
Shooting in Black and White
Everyone loves the drama and moodiness of black and white photos. In this lesson, you will learn some of the keys to making sure you get great shots with loads of detail.
Editing with ACDsee (PC)
ACDsee is the photo management and editing software that I use. This lesson will specifically dive into editing photos with ACDsee.
Cropping, Resolution and Posting
At a fraction of the price, Affinity photo editing software is a great alternative to photoshop. I recommend this as a budget option if you are on a MAC computer
Portrait Photography
Learn the skills of great portrait photography. Technical specs as well as tips to make the experience go smoothly for photographer and models.
Mastering the Tripod
Every photographer should own a tripod. When the light is low and you need to slow your shutter speed to get the shot, hand holding the camera is not an option.
Long Exposures
One of the most popular lessons is Long Exposures. I will show you how to capture milky waterfall photos, blurred clouds and even night skies.
Night photography
This lesson is specifically designed to understand shooting at night and creating images of stars, moon, aurora and some advanced techniques like star trails.
Wildlife Photography
Join the wildlife photography to learn settings, tips and lens skills related to wildlife photography. We start with a discussion on equipment and proper techniques.
Ultimate Sharpness
Ultimate sharpness may sound like a lesson in buying expensive equipment, however this lesson will show you that sharp images are achievable with any camera.
Composition
Just like the name suggests, this lesson is about the aesthetics of good photography. Think of composition as the art of photography.
Landscape Photography
On every list of photography lessons, there will be a discussion about landscapes and creating beautiful images of beautiful places.
Potpourri Lesson
Each potpourri session, I will create a lesson on a fun topic that interests me. It could be lightning, aurora, baby portraits, food…who knows.
Flash Photography
At a certain point, when there is simply not enough light, you need to turn on the flash. This creates its own set of challenges and we tackle those here.
Mastering Light
The idea of mastering light seems a bit abstract. In this lesson, I will remove the abstract nature of light and make a simple formula. Then you need to practice.
Mastering White Balance
Colour is often the part of photography that causes the most issues. People looking blue or orange or skies that just don’t seem to look right.
Macro Photography
Get up-close and personal with the tiny details of life. You will need a dedicated macro lens and a boat load of patience if you want to master macro.
Focusing on Focusing
Auto focus vs Manual focus. Focusing on moving targets. Which focus points to use and how to change them. Continuous focus vs focusing one shot at a time.
Photoshop Friday!
Photoshop is the gold standard in photo editing. It is much more than editing and this lesson will take you down the path of understanding this giant software tool.
